Formlabs 4B+ Medical 3D Printer

The Formlabs 4B+ Medical 3D Printer is a high-precision device designed for medical-grade 3D printing. It supports biocompatible, sterilisable materials, making it ideal for surgical tool concepts, medical device prototypes, and anatomical / diagnostic models. Using photopolymers, it produces accurate, detailed prints with consistent quality.

We stock an array of engineering resins – Rigid 10000, White, Black, Clear, Precision ModelDurable, Tough 1500, Tough 2000.

Bambu Labs P1S FDM 3D Printer

The Bambu Labs P1S FDM 3D Printer is a versatile, high-performance device ideal for medium fidelity, heat-shielded parts. It can print right down to 50 micron layer height, with impressive fidelity reliably. It’s a cost effective starting point for quick prototyping before moving onto higher fidelity solutions – e.g. resin printing, casting, or machining.

This printer can also handle printing in 4 filament colours at once, which can enable colour coding, branding and artwork on proprietary designs. The colours available in stock are Magenta, Purple, Yellow, White, Black, Red, Orange, Blue and Cyan. Additional colours available upon request.

Elegoo Neptune 4 Max

The Elegoo Neptune 4 Max is a large FDM 3D printer – with a volume of 420 x 420 x 480 mm.

Having a printer this big on-site means we can protoype more unusual development projects like scale head models and helmets.

This printer can pull from the same stock as the Bambu Labs, meaning we can print in Magenta, Purple, Yellow, White, Black, Red, Orange, Blue and Cyan, with only one filament colour per layer.

CNC Router

The Ultimate Bee CNC Router is a versatile and robust machine. With its sturdy construction and high-torque servo motors, it delivers accuracy and reliability for larger parts.

Featuring a generous 1300mm x 1300mm cutting area, the Ultimate Bee allows for the machining of intricate designs and large workpieces with ease,  supporting a wide range of materials, including wood, plastics, soft metals, and thin mild steel with a tolerance of roughly +/- 0.2 mm.

This machine is more about churning out parts in a variety of sizes. Precision milling with stainless steel wouldn’t be quite as well suited to this machine.

 

JASIC AC Welder & RHOR DC Welder

The RHOR DC Welder is a versatile, rough and ready machine designed for welding of mild and stainless steels in thicknesses over 1.5 mm. It’s fitted with a MIG gun and stick welding equipment.

The JASIC AC Welder is a powerful and reliable machine suitable for both steel and aluminium applications. This machine is used for TIG welding, and is intended for more precise work.

We don’t have in-house non-destructive testing equipment to check the penetration of welds, so we only provide welding for parts that are non load bearing, and not critical to the safety of it’s users.

 

Industrial 2 hp 2×72 ” Grinder

The Industrial 2 hp 2×72″ Grinder is a high-performance machine designed for metalworking and fabrication projects. With its powerful 2 horsepower motor, it’s ideal for quick grinding, shaping, and finishing a wide range of materials.

In-house we stock belts from 40 – 240 grit. Higher grits and polishing belts for specific surface finishes are available for project specific requests.

Electronics Station

Our electronics station enables the prototyping and analysis of stripboard / perfboard circuits, as well as the assembly of manufactured PCBs. This enables some initial work with microcontrollers & sensors before designing a custom PCB on KiCAD with surface mounted or THT components, and assembling the parts in-house.

Having a CD-2BF JBC soldering iron enables the soldering of components connected to large ground planes as it can keep up with the heat being drawn away. It also allows smaller tips to be used to direct heat into only the essential parts of the board, preventing damage when designing and assembling custom circuits.

Software

Utilising Onshape – a cloud-based CAD platform developed by the team at SOLIDWORKS, our design studio offers advanced design development, technical diagrams and rendering tailored for the medtech sector. With high-performance PCs, we create intricate models and simulations, enabling us to review concepts in 3D before bringing them into the world. Onshape is great for traceability through multiple prototyping phases.

In addition to Onshape, we utilise KiCAD for PCB design, enabling us to produce efficient and reliable circuit layouts. We also integrate C++ and Python coding into projects through Visual Studio, allowing us to program microcontrollers and begin to test the functionality of mechatronics components.
